    Summary of Job Duties:


    The Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on University Vehicles such as changing brakes, tires, oil, etc.; repair transmissions, engines, rear ends, etc.

    in small and large vehicles. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Other duties as assigned.


    Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.



    Qualifications:

    Minimum

    Qualifications:


    • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
    • At least five years of experience as a vehicle mechanic
    • Valid Driver's License
    Applicable equivalencies may be considered

    Preferred

    Qualifications:


    • At least eight years of experience as a vehicle mechanic

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Knowledge of the methods, practices, and safety precautions in one or more of the skilled trades
    • Knowledge of the laws and regulations relating to one or more of the skilled trades
    • Skill in the use and care of tools and machinery used in one or more of the skilled trades
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, schematics, building plans, and/or work drawings

    $44,000 - $46,500 (commensurate with education/certification/experience)
