Share your love of sports and games with children this summer Camp Kaleidoscope, the JCC day camp in Newton, is looking for a creative, enthusiastic Sports Specialist who can make team sports and outdoor games fun across various ages. Activities may include Dodge Ball, Relay Races, Whiffle Ball, Four-Square, Basketball, Challenge Course games, or other activities. Run daily activities for campers in grades K - 8.

Camp Kaleidoscope draws creative youth interested in the arts, science, and the outdoors. Supportive, experienced counselors and teachers guide campers as they develop and build self-confidence. Camp is fast-paced, nurturing, and supportive, as campers and staff develop lifelong friendships.

Responsibilities

Curriculum development and managing supplies/equipment
Lead fun, active, movement-oriented experiences
Create a fun/joyful dynamic
Lead up to 5 activities daily
Work in partnership with peers and Camp Leadership to provide a happy, safe, and memorable summer for the children
Contribute, as needed, to camp special events and initiatives

Requirements

High School or equivalent experience

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted at the JCC's discretion to meet minimum criteria.

Skills & Abilities

Experience leading sports and games
Experience with children
Excellent group management skills
Flexibility in plans and positive attitude
Enjoy working with children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
Ability to multitask and to manage situations effectively and diplomatically
Ability and commitment to build strong relationships with campers, parents, co-workers, and camp leadership
