    Position Information

    Job Title Patient Care Specialist - Hancock County Community Health Center Department Office of Practice Pay Grade 8 Job Category Support Staff Job Summary
    The Hancock County Community Health Center, located in Sneedville, TN, is seeking to fill one (1) full-time Patient Care Specialist position.

    The Patient Care Specialist works under the general supervision of the Center Director or Advanced Practice Nurse. This role assists in all aspects of professional clinical care, administers injections, performs EKGs, gathers specimens, assists with special procedures and general workups, performs other related nursing and clerical duties as assigned.

    Eligible for Sign-On Bonus - $500 after 30 days. $1000 for continued employment within the CON OOP department as an initial sign-on bonus. A sign-on bonus is not eligible when transferring or being promoted to a new position within the CON OOP .

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to utilize an electronic health record system for accomplishing daily tasks.
    • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with patients, supervisors, physicians, and co-workers.
    • Ability to communicate professionally via telephone with pharmacies, providers, and community agencies as needed.
    • Ability to effectively communicate patient needs to providers.
    • Ability to handle all patient information responsibly.
    • Ability to adhere to and apply all university, college, department, and clinic policies and procedures. Ability to behave professionally at all times and present a positive image of the facility.
    • Ability to work as a team member.
    • Ability to maintain quality control standards.
    • Ability to react calmly in emergency situations.
    • Ability to pay attention to details.
    • Ability to apply time management principles in order to accomplish assigned duties.
    • Knowledge of accepted nursing/ CMA standards and practices.
    • Knowledge of HIPAA requirements and guidelines.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology.
    • Knowledge of basic pharmacology.
    • Knowledge of the basic principles and practices of nursing
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Skilled in providing patient care in accordance with the facility's applicable standards, policies, and procedures.
    • Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.
    Required Qualifications
    • High School Diploma/ GED
    • RMA , CMA ( AAMA certification), or LPN
    • A current CPR card
