Purpose:
Amentum is offering an exciting opportunity in Pacific City, OR for a Sr Heavy Equipment Mechanic-Track on the APS-2 contract.
There is a possibility of deployment to other sites to conduct equipment inspections for Units. Overtime may be required for this position.The role involves performing maintenance and modifications on military equipment such as M1A2 tanks, M2A2/M3A3 Bradley fighting vehicles, M109 A6/7 Howitzers, M88A2, ABV assault vehicles, and support equipment like mine plows and rollers.
The mechanic will also work on the Light tracks M113 Family of vehicles.Position Reporting to this Function:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To be successful in this role, the individual must be able to perform the following essential duties:
- Diagnose system malfunctions, isolate causes, and correct deficiencies.
- Dismantle and reassemble equipment using Technical Manuals (TM).
- Understand the difference between repairing and replacing major end items.
- Inspect, repair, and replace components, engines, transmissions, and subassemblies.
- Identify parts in repair manuals and place orders for needed parts.
- Perform annual service on equipment fleet.
- Conduct road tests on vehicles after repairs and services have been completed.
- Mentor and teach subordinate mechanics to improve technical abilities.
- Read and understand hydraulic and electrical diagrams and schematics.
- Experience in hose fabrication and repair
