The District Government of Cologne is currently seeking to fill a two-year temporary position as


Director (m/f/d) of a Refugee Accommodation Facility

for the State of North Rhine-Westphalia at the Marmagen location (pay grade 11 TV-L)
in Department 20 - Refugee Accommodation.

The District Government of Cologne is a modern, efficient, and citizen-friendly authority of the state's intermediate level. It is a central authority that represents all departments of the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia in its district. With around 2000 employees, the District Government of Cologne is one of the largest authorities in the state.

To fulfill the diverse and responsible tasks of a state central authority, we are seeking support.


Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities in Department 20 include supporting property management and leading the refugee accommodation facility.


You will be involved in:

  • Site management, including monitoring and enforcing contractually agreed standards
  • Collaboration with support organizations, social welfare offices, immigration authorities, health authorities, and police
  • Participation in order partnerships/ round tables/ representing the District Government onsite at the refugee accommodation facility
  • Maintaining statistics and preparing reports
  • Reviewing, deciding, and implementing measures related to benefits under the Asylum Seekers' Benefits Act (e.g. issuing taxi and/or medical certificates, providing pocket money)
  • The position involves attending external appointments
  • Advocating for the interests of Department 20 towards service providers working
