    Description

    Excited about hydropower and ready to make a difference? Join us as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer and Project Engineer, where you'll have a direct hand in shaping the future of hydropower projects. In this role, you'll provide strategic guidance, technical design, and engineering consultation for a variety of hydropower projects, including upgrades and new installations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead mechanical design and project engineering efforts for hydropower projects.
    • Offer strategic advice and technical expertise for new and upgraded hydropower ventures.
    • Oversee various project aspects, including Hydro Turbine & Generator Upgrades, Pumped Energy Storage and Dams, Generator Cooling Systems, Turbine and Generator Bearings, Control Air Systems, and Bearing Oil Systems.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 7-10+ years of mechanical engineering experience, with at least 5 years in hydropower or related fields.
    • Previous involvement in engineering projects within utility power plant settings.
    • Experience in designing and supporting conventional and hydroelectric generation stations.
    • Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (ANSYS) software.
    • Previous experience in client-facing roles.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
    • At least 5 years of relevant hydropower experience.
    • Willingness to complete pre-employment requirements, including background checks and drug screening.

    Location:

    Relocation to Birmingham, Alabama is preferred, but remote work with periodic travel will be considered based on the individual candidate.

    Certifications:

    Professional Engineering (PE) License preferred.
