    General Description:


    Tolin Mechanical, an established, well recognized and respected HVAC service contractor, is looking for an experienced Controls Engineer to join our Denver Branch.

    We are seeking a candidate who meets the qualifications listed below.
    We have a solid team of experienced and respected technicians.

    Our business continues to grow, and we are looking for a solid Controls Engineer that is interested in a long-term position and who will fit well into our team.

    Our Controls Engineers are responsible for performing programming, graphics, application engineering, installation, and commissioning of new Building Automation Systems.

    They assume the day-to-day coordination of specific projects and agreements as assigned, to ensure contractual commitments are met in a timely, cost effective manner.


    Summary of Job Functions and Equipment:

    Technical:
    Program Niagara N4Program Honeywell Spyder Classic/5/7, CIPer and Optimizer controllersConfigure third party controls devicesCommissioning of new and retrofitted control systemsTroubleshooting and diagnostics of new and existing Create user-friendly customer interfaces (graphics)

    Knowledge:

    Assist with project layout/engineering/designInterpret mechanical and controls drawings, sequences and design intentDevelop sequences of operation in retrofit applications and identify deficiencies in engineered sequencesProvide quality as-built notesIdentify additional controls opportunities and deficienciesSales assistance as needed on technically complex or sensitive project opportunitiesLeadership:Take ownership of assigned projectsSupervise control system installation to specification/designEnsure quality installation and commissioning/checkout standardsInstruct/assist junior controls engineers/technicians and installation techniciansTrain customers on operation of completed projectsManage time to ensure timely project completion and keeping productiveInterpersonal:Develop positive relationships with customersMaintain good working relationships within Tolin and with vendorsCommunicate and schedule directly with customersLogistical:Purchase controllers, devices and installation materialsEnsure installation team is prepared and equipped for projectsIdeal candidates will have the following qualifications:5+ years of continuous Niagara N4 use10+ years of HVAC controls experienceExtensive custom programming experience of N4 (including Kit Control) and Honeywell SpydersExperience troubleshooting new and existing electrical controls circuits and devicesExperience with engineering controls solutions and providing detailed as-built notesExtensive technical knowledge of HVAC systems (pressure dependent/independent VAV, chilled and hot water, various terminal air units, specialty equipment etc.)Demonstrated ability to develop rapport and productive working relationships with clients, vendors, and co-workers.

    Strong organization and time management/planning skillsMinimum Qualifications:2+ continuous years of Niagara N4 use5+ years of HVAC controls experienceOver 18 years of ageHigh School diploma or GEDStrong written and verbal English skillsValid driver's license with driving record in good standingCompensation & Benefits:

    Average Starting Rate:
