Degnon Associates, an accredited association management company in McLean, VA, provides administrative leadership for the Association of Medical School Pediatric Department Chairs (AMSPDC) and is now recruiting a Senior Project Manager.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for operational activities of the AMSPDC 2028 Pediatrics Workforce Initiative, which was recently extended from an end date of 2025.

The goals of this initiative are to help implement recommendations from a recently released National Academies of Sciences Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) study entitled

Future Pediatric Subspecialty Physician Workforce:
Meeting the Needs of Infants, Children, and Adolescents .

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for assisting medical school pediatric department chairs and the AMSPDC Executive Director in carrying out the goals of the Initiative which have been broken down into the following areas: Economic Strategies; Innovating Education; Diversification of the Workforce; Physician-Scientists, Practice and Public Awareness.

PROGRAM SUPPORT:

Under the supervision of the two project leads for the AMSPDC Workforce Initiative, the project manager will help develop and implement SMART goals for each area.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree required (health studies, public health, human services, social work, research, or related field preferred).
MASTER'S DEGREE PREFERRED (MSW, MPH); or equivalent prior experience

PRIOR EXPERIENCE:
Serving as a high-level project manager
Grant writing and fundraising preferred
Public relations experience
Healthcare system involvement with an emphasis on payor models and health policy

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Ability to provide leadership and coordinate the work of a team.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to be detail oriented in all notes and documentation.
Ability to analyze needs and apply resources effectively to meet those needs.
Ability to achieve targeted results through motivating, mobilizing, and delegating to others.

Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Internet and web page usage/updating, social networking and other technologies that can be used to further carry the initiative's mission.
