Field Service Technician Job Details:

Schedule: Monday – Friday and are generally in the office here, However, travel can require weekends depending on scheduling.
Pay Rate: $26-$28/hr with the likelihood of OT especially when traveling.

Job Description:

Must travel to perform service responsibilities with limited notice (airline flights, Trains, busses, etc)
Must have capacity to plan/coordinate remote service actions (tools, spare parts, instruments etc)
Inspect, repair, test, calibrate, and install subassemblies, instruments, or vehicle system in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and quality standards
Perform assigned activities from oral and/or written instructions, drawings, or other manufacturing and/ or service information
Expertise in electrical circuit analysis including analog, power, high voltage, and digital circuits
Expertise in setting up and using test and Measurement equipments in the troubleshooting of electronic products including but not limited to DMMs, O-Scopes, Insulation Testers, Power Supplies, etc.
Expertise in using handtools to repair electronic board assemblies and wiring harnesses: hand tools, soldering irons, contact crimpers, heat guns, et
Expertise in using mechanical tools: drills, saws, grinders, etc
Ability to inspect, analyze and determine root cause of equipment failures, in order to execute repair.
Demostrated ability to read/understand product design schematics, assembly & test documentation, and component/subassembly installation guides and datasheets
Experience and understanding of product test & calibration methods and fundamentals
Experience working safely with HIGH voltages, 1kV to 160kV
Demonstrated ability in following established procedures/work instructions for assigned activities
Experience in handling materials in accordance with established procedures (ESD, Hazard, etc)
Maintain expected progress of jobs in area of assignment and communication of problem areas
Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Associates degree or other applicable technical degree required, Bachelors degree preferred
5-7 years experience with product repair/service, complex electronic products (field or factory)
Advanced skill in reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals and engineering drawings
Advanced skill in performing electromechanical system troubleshooting and repair to subassembly and component level
Demonstrated ability to multi-task across a variety of repair jobs
