Trident Consulting is looking for a Data Architect - Azure for one of our clients

Role: Data Architect - Azure

Location: Sacramento CA (Hybrid-Onsite)

Type: Contract

Responsibilities:

· Design and implement a secure, scalable, and high-performance Azure data environment that includes data lakes, data marts, and data labs.

· Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate these into technical solutions.

· Automate the ingestion, transformation, and integration of data from over 10 diverse sources into the Azure data platform.

· Ensure best practices in data governance and compliance are followed, including data security, data quality, and metadata management.

· Optimize data storage, data flow, and data access within the Azure environment to support analytical and operational workloads.

· Develop prototypes to validate architecture approaches and conduct performance tuning to ensure system reliability and efficiency.

· Provide technical leadership and guidance in the selection and implementation of ETL tools and other Azure data services.

· Stay abreast of the latest Azure features and technologies, incorporating them into the data platform to enhance its capabilities.

Requirements:

· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

· Proven experience as a Data Architect, Data Engineer, or similar role, specifically with Azure cloud environments.

· Deep understanding of Azure data services (Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Data Warehouse/Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, etc.).

· Strong experience in designing and implementing ETL processes, data lakes, and data marts.

· Expertise in data modeling, data governance, and data security best practices.

· Proficiency in SQL and experience with programming languages such as Python or Scala.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently to manage and execute projects.

· Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
