- Assists in the oversight and management of camp counselors and staff.
- Facilitates and participates in the training of camp counselors and support staff.
- Develops effective written program plans and learning outcomes, including daily activities, games, crafts, and special events.
- Evaluate camp counselors and in coordination with Camp Director, develop improvement plans when necessary.
- Provide constructive feedback to staff on an ongoing basis.
- Coordinate with volunteers, contract service employees, and vendors.
- Develops a system of record keeping for all recreation resources within the community including volunteers, activity instructors, contributors, special events, and past programs.
- Assists with the evaluation of the program.
- Communicate with parents as needed regarding conduct, achievements, and schedule.
- Excellent knowledge of the principles, philosophy, and practices of recreation administration (e.g., program planning, leadership, risk management, budgeting, marketing & public relations).
- The ability to plan, promote and evaluate recreation services for an established summer camp program.
- Leadership skills for a wide range of recreation activities and special events.
- Superior communication skills.

Description:The Emory Sports Fitness Camp (SFC) was founded in 1965 by members of the full-time teaching faculty in the Department of Physical Education. Their goal was to provide children with a fun and safe environment in which to foster a life-long appreciation for physical activity. Children today need physical activity more than ever Thousands of children have benefitted from the program over the last 55 years and former campers now bring their children to the camp. SFC hosts approximately 60 children ages 5-12 each week.
The Sports Fitness Camp Manager works to ensure the Emory Sports Fitness Camp staff and programs meet the safety and care of the campers. This is a position that requires extensive coordination, organization, and decision-making.
