    Summary

    The City of College Park Department of Recreation and Cultural Arts is seeking dedicated individuals for the role of Summer Day Camp Managers at various recreation centers. Join us in providing a safe, engaging, and memorable camp experience for children aged 6 to 12.

    Be a crucial part of the operational success of City of College Park by assisting in planning, organizing, and supervising daily activities for camp participants. Create a positive and supportive learning environment for the campers.

    As a Camp Manager, you will have dual responsibilities: 1. Assist in camp preparation before the start and 2. Supervise daily camp activities.
    Essential Functions

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Monitor and evaluate the camp program's effectiveness.
    • Coordinate camp schedule and maintain supplies inventory.
    • Provide direct oversight of all camp aspects.
    • Lead camp staff meetings and activities.
    • Evaluate staff performance and ensure compliance with safety rules.
    • Establish rapport with parents, children, and staff.
    • Handle emergencies and incident reporting.
    • Maintain accurate records related to camp operations.
    • Participate in staff training and development.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    This role involves hands-on interaction with participants, parents, and staff to deliver a high-quality experience. Activities include indoor/outdoor games, sports, arts, crafts, and more.
    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Regular attendance is mandatory.
    • Ability to work a flexible daytime schedule.
    • Proficiency in child development principles.
    • Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
    • Physical capability for moderate activity.
    • 21 years of age minimum with camp experience.
    • First Aid training with CPR certification required.
    • Valid driver's license and organizational skills.
    • Experience in diverse community engagement.
    • MS Office proficiency and pre-employment screening.
    Qualifications
    • Minimum 21 years of age.
    • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent with camp supervision experience.
    • First Aid and CPR certification required.
    • Valid Georgia Driver's License.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Experience in community engagement and MS Office.
    • Availability for extensive hours and weekends.
    • Successful completion of pre-employment screening.
