As the Associate Buyer, you will be an integral part of Modsys growing Merchandising team. You will aid in delivering against Modsys Merchandising strategy and partner across the organization to bring it to life while achieving financial targets. You will support the Merchandising team in assortment selection, pricing decisions and assortment management. Knowledge of home decor categories is a plus, as is e-commerce. The ideal candidate is passionate about product and leveraging technology and data to drive a better client experience. This candidate is strategic, data driven and has a track record of effectively driving results in a fast paced and rapidly growing retail environment. **Youll be excited about this role because you will:**
+ Support strategy building, assortment planning, product development, sampling, sourcing, and in-season management in order to maximize sales and profits.
+ Develop strong relationships with our vendor partners and negotiate to secure best pricing, availability and promotional support.
+ Focus on catalog expansion: onboard new partners, introduce new categories and identify assortment gaps.
+ Stay current and well-informed on current trends in the marketplace to recommend new business opportunities.
+ Perform category analysis and monitor sales to develop actions and strategies based on sales trends.
+ Leverage technology and data to drive a better customer shopping experience.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally to drive business results.
**Well be excited about you because your experience and qualifications include:**
+ Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a retail buying or merchandising role, e-commerce preferred
+ You have strong excel and analytical skills and can interpret meaningful themes from quantitative data.
+ You are comfortable with retail concepts, retail math, and best practices.
+ Comfort pulling, analyzing, and manipulating data to support business insights.
+ Experience in the home decor industry and knowledge of current industry trends.
+ You are flexible and can adapt to changing priorities.
+ You are able to find efficiencies and improvements to make existing processes more successful.
+ You take pride in your work, follow through to completion, and care about delivering high levels of accuracy.
+ You have strong communication skills and can work collaboratively with the entire team including product, design, marketing, customer service, and logistics.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and problem solving skills.
