Location Description
Michael Foods, Inc. in Gaylord, Minnesota, sits in Minnesota's Healthy Heartland. Gaylord is situated in south-central Minnesota, approximately an hour west of the Twin Cities and 35 minutes away from Mankato, Hutchinson, and New Ulm. As the County Seat, Gaylord acts as the central point of Sibley County. Our site specializes in liquid egg, hard-cooked egg, and various pre-cooked egg products like scrambled eggs, patties, and omelets.
Responsibilities
Starting Wage: $22/Hour plus $2/Hour Shift Differential
Hours: 2:30 PM - 11:30 PM (or until end of production)
Schedule: Monday through Friday with alternating Saturdays

POSITION SUMMARY:
This role involves directing job assignments and providing support to the Precooked line workers and operations within the department. You will oversee the training of new line workers and operators, and assist the shift supervisor in managing the Packaging Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ability to carry out all tasks in the area including oven operation, mixing, line work, doboy, robot, and forklift.
- Understanding of product standards.
- Monitoring product quality and standards, and adjusting operations as needed to maintain high-quality production.
- Supervising and guiding all employees in task completion.
- Disassembling/assembling equipment.
- Conducting CIP's and equipment sanitation as necessary.
- Identifying and rectifying GMP/Safety violations.
- Overseeing Mix person and time lines.
- Performing minor maintenance work.
- Addressing employee issues.
- Filling in for the Area Supervisor when required.
- Ensuring adherence to safe work practices, GMP's, and sanitary conditions to uphold product quality and safety.
- Taking responsibility for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products.
- Following all safety policies and procedures.
- Performing any other assigned duties.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of a Powered Industrial Truck training program and forklift certification.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- One to three months of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
- Ability to write basic correspondence in English.
- Effective presentation skills in one-on-one and small group settings with other organization employees in English.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is advantageous.
- Capability to perform basic calculations and apply mathematical concepts like algebra and geometry.
- Problem-solving skills for practical issues and handling various situations with limited standardization.
