- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, components, and services
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conduct supplier assessments, and negotiate favorable terms and pricing agreements
- Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and address any issues or concerns to ensure a reliable and high-quality supply chain
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Production, and Quality, to align procurement activities with project timelines and specifications
- Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and emerging suppliers or technologies
- Lead contract negotiations and develop contracts and agreements that mitigate risk and protect the company's interests
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supplier performance and drive continuous improvement
- Maintain accurate procurement records, track purchasing activities, and provide regular reports to management
- Stay updated on regulatory requirements and compliance related to procurement and supply chain management
- Coach and develop the purchasing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and continuous learning
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar role within a manufacturing or procurement department
- In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, best practices, and supplier management strategies
- Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to drive cost savings and favorable terms with suppliers
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in data analysis and supplier performance evaluation
- Familiarity with supply chain processes, including demand planning, inventory management, and logistics
- Proficiency in using procurement software or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
