    Our client located in West Brookfield, MA is seeking a qualified Purchasing Manager to join their team.

    Hourly Rate:
    $25.00-$32.00 (Depending on experience)

    Purchasing/Materials


    Manager Summary:


    Searches and purchases the highest quality merchandise and materials necessary for company operations at the right time and at the right price.

    Maintains supporting documentation of orders, order receipt and inventories items. Arrange shipments and supporting documentation for sales orders.


    Purchasing Manager Job Duties:
    Development of supply chain management.

    Selection of sources of supply. Work with engineering, production, and vendors for standard and prototype components to develop quality sources of supply.

    Solicit quotations.

    Negotiate pricing and cost savings.


    Negotiate short and long term contracts, quantity discounts, blanket orders, and payment terms resulting in fixed pricing and lead time management.


    Track and expedite orders to meet the production schedule and to maintain adequate inventory levels determined by sales and production levels.

    Issue and maintain Purchase orders in system.

    Create purchasing reports as required.

    Maintain parts numbering lookup database.

    Maintain vendor files in MRP system.

    Select qualified vendors to supply parts being manufactured, and subcontractor services.

    Purchase all material and services for the company.

    Package and ship materials.

    Initiate paper work for invoicing

    Receive and distribute ordered materials to stock and for in process jobs.

    Work with department supervisors to stay informed on job progress so parts are ordered at the appropriate time.

    Maintain both mechanical and electrical B.O.M. in MRP system for all jobs.

    Collect and file certificates of insurance from sub-contractors and vendors. Notify VP of operations if coverage is nonexistent or inadequate.

    Obtain MSDS sheets and file in appropriate location.

    Handle all logistics for material and machines.

    Assist part sales department by obtaining price and delivery information on parts quoted for sale.

    Initiate shipping paper work on machine and parts sales shipments.

    Gather, organize and send machine documentation to designated customer personnel.

    Answer phones and assist customers.

    Attend weekly production meetings with purchasing and open items updates for all active jobs.

    Document and maintain department written procedures


    Qualifications:

    Education:
    Bachelor's Degree in related field (preferred but not necessary)

    Experience: 3-5 years experience in manufacturing along with purchasing, shipping & receiving and inventory.

    Strong organizational and analytical skills and understands budgets.

    Skilled negotiator.

    Specific Technical Knowledge:
    Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) utilizing Foundations software.

    Manual dexterity, ability to reach, lift and carry up to 30 pounds, ability to stand for long periods of time, judge depth and distance, and see clearly up close

    Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

    Valid driver's license.

    Good credit history.
