DEFINITION

JOB SUMMARY


Under the direction of the Assistant GM of Corporate Services, the Custodial Services Specialist is responsible for cleanliness and care of the district facilities and buildings.

The goal is to keep buildings clean and in an orderly condition.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Sweep, vacuum, and mop all flooring.
  • Clean, sanitize, and dust bathrooms.
  • Clean and disinfect sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms.
  • Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms and common areas.
  • Empty all trash cans and replace liners, clean receptacles as necessary.
  • Dust and clean office desks, furniture, and light fixtures as needed.
  • Clean windowsills, windows, and blinds, as needed.
  • Maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
  • Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe, and operable condition.
  • Properly label, dilution, and use of all chemicals.
  • Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
  • Maintain vending closets in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
  • Keep Distribution System Designer abreast of the necessary cleaning supplies.
  • Assist in loading/unloading office supplies.
  • Assist in Board Meeting setup and clean up.
  • Other duties, scheduled and unscheduled, as assigned.
  • Work with variety of cleaning supplies.
  • Safely dispose of hazardous materials.
  • Identify stains and use proper chemicals for their removal.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Perform physical labor.
  • Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
  • Maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Selfmotivated and able to work with mínimal supervision.
  • Must be professional, organized, and work quickly.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Must be able to work safely in an environment containing caustic chemicals, cleaning materials, dust, and noise.
  • Must have knowledge and methods of maintaining, cleaning, and preserving a variety of surfaces.
  • Must have knowledge of proper use of a wide range of chemicals according to state and federal regulations.
  • Must have knowledge of handling and disposing of hazardous material with care.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must pass employment drug screening test and criminal background check.
  • Must be able sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy items (up to 30 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, and climbing.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Six (6) months or more of custodial experience preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Majority of work will be done indoors, though outdoor janitorial may be required.
  • When working outdoors, heat levels may be more than moderate.
  • Noise levels, while working with essential equipment, may be more than moderate.

From $21.00 per hour
