    The Sales Engineer position is focused on the American Ductile Iron Pipe and Spiral-Weld Pipe product lines, primarily serving the water industry.

    Spanning all 50 states coast-to-coast, AMERICAN operates in the municipal water sector and employs dedicated sales professionals strategically placed nationwide.

    Clients include municipal water authorities, consulting engineers, contractors overseeing project construction, and various distributors.

    AMERICAN provides a comprehensive six-month career development program at the headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama. Trainees learn about products, travel with other Sales Engineers, and enhance presentation skills.

    Upon completion, relocation to any U.S. territory is required to manage and expand market presence through client relationships.

    Territory Management:

    Willingness to relocate to a designated Sales Division territory after training, and effective management of pre and post-bid activities within the territory.


    Relationship Building:
    Ability to establish long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including owners, engineers, contractors, and distributors.
    Responsibility in influencing project plans and specifications.
    Setting and pursuing sales and marketing goals.
    Completion of AMERICAN's six-month sales training program.
    Relocation within a Sales Division territory.
    Development of relationships with owners, engineers, contractors, and distributors.
    Oversight of distributor sales force activities.
    Handling of multiple projects simultaneously.
    Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
    Capacity to travel at least 60% of the time.
    Ability to interpret project specifications.
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
