    Job Description

    Square's Growth Product team builds and owns tools, platforms, application, and data to support Square's critical growth initiatives. The product manager for this role will manage Square's Customer Data Platform (CDP) and Unified Eventing initiative. The team is building a state-of-the-art in-house eventing platform for collecting, unifying, and connecting customer data with applications. The team develops products and capabilities (e.g., for personalization, segmentation, analytics) that allow partners to transport data and use data to build industry-leading products. The team has made an enormous impact on Square's data ecosystem and leads the way to transform Square into a data company.

    As a Product Manager for the team, you will lead important product roadmaps from ideation to delivery. You will partner with an accomplished engineering team to ensure that our products meet customer requirements and accelerate Square's growth. Your customers consist of teams across a majority of Square products. You will need experience with eventing pipelines to determine areas of opportunity to grow our products. You will need a product mindset, great execution, and excellent partner management to solve the most complex user needs. You will learn from Square product leaders who will support your growth in product management.

    What you will be doing

  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and technical due diligence to determine new areas to grow the product.
  • Conduct interviews to determine customer needs and product requirements
  • Set the roadmap and direction for core areas of the product.
  • Lead planning, backlog grooming, and prioritization of features to achieve the product vision
  • Represent the team with partners and senior company leaders to align resources and prioritization
  • Educate teams and promote Square adoption of event platforms
  • Foster an environment that enables the engineering team to build quickly while maintaining a high standard for quality

    Qualifications:
    Qualifications
  • You MUST have experience with Kafka or eventing pipelines. Experience: 3+ years in product management or software development.
  • Product sense: You have experience shaping product direction and execution based on customer needs. You can empathize with customers and envision solutions to solve their pain points.
  • Passion: You are excited to build customer-focused data products.
  • Technical: You have knowledge of modern data architecture and best practices. You have experience developing, testing, and deploying APIs and web applications that use external platforms, cloud services, and APIs.
  • Collaborative: You have experience working directly with other teams, customers, and vendors.
  • Communicative: You can write and present with brevity and clarity.
  • Creative: You can break down open-ended and ambiguous problems.

    Additional Information
    Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
    Zone A: USD $148,700 - USD $223,100

    Zone B: USD $141,300 - USD $211,900

    Zone C: USD $133,800 - USD $200,800

    Zone D: USD $126,400 - USD $189,600
