    OVERVIEW:

    Our legal team is committed to providing each client with quality counsel, innovative solutions, and personalized service. Founded in 2000, the firm offers the legal expertise of its 115-plus attorneys, who have accumulated experience and problem-solving skills over decades of practice.

    We are a vibrant, busy, and growing full-service law firm and looking to add a Legal Billing Specialist with 3-5 years of experience to help our law firm with our daily functions.

    JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    We are seeking an experienced Legal Billing Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be able to review, edit and generate client invoices for assigned billing attorneys. Maintain and analyze client accounts receivable and be the liaison between attorney and clients. The candidate will collaborate closely with all levels of business professionals to achieve the goal of producing invoices in an accurate and timely manner.

    Responsibilities:


    • Research and respond to firm employees with billing related inquiries.

    • Research and respond to clients with billing related inquiries.

    • Administration of attorney billing responsibilities including but not limited to performing client billing and collection activities for assigned clients in a timely manner.

    • Collaborate with all levels of business professionals to ensure timely billing and collection.

    • Request conflict checks, open new client matters, and submit electronic approvals, as needed.

    • Work with business office to review and resolve unpaid invoices.

    • Ability to work well with deadlines.

    • Ability to work well under pressure.

    • Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.

    • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or disputes.

    • Assisting billing department with generating prebills and distributing them to appropriate departments.

    • Assisting with editing and finalizing prebills.

    • Using third party billing websites, as needed.

    • Reviewing and editing pre-bills to finalize before sending to clients.

    • All other related ad-hoc projects.

    Requirements:


    • 3-5 years of experience as a billing specialist or a related job in a law firm setting.

    • Demonstrated ability to be flexible, work independently with limited oversight and prioritize work tasks in an effective manner.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).

    • Experience with Centerbase (or a comparable legal billing platform.)

    • Collaborative with a can-do attitude balanced with the ability to communicate openly.

    • Comfortable working with all levels of business professionals, including senior management and all colleagues at other departments in a fast-paced environment.

    • Proficient and accurate data entry a must.

    • Ability to prioritize and multitask.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Strong attention to detail

    • Strong organizational skills

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.

    COMPENSATION:

    $55,000
