Project Description/Job Summary

The senior project manager will support the implementation of Workday, a SaaS based Human Resources Management System and Payroll Solution for Client.

This is a key project for Client.

We are looking for top talent with very strong project management skills and Workday background (managing Workday projects) to manage the IT portion of the program.

The project manager is responsible for project artifacts and governance to reduce risks for Client by leveraging Project Management Institute (PMI) principles and Clients IT Project Management Office (PMO) guidance.

In addition to collaborating with the IT teams, the senior project manager will be partnering with Corporate PMO and business stakeholders across the enterprise to ensure consistent project delivery and alignment of technology approach.

The individual must have excellent project management skills, technical acumen, and ability to interact/influence teams outside of IT including third parties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES
Tracks and manages the Workday program roadmaps/schedules for upstream and downstream dependencies.

Responsible for project artifacts, including and not limited to the following: Roles & Responsibilities, Project Organizational Chart, RACI, Communication Plan, Schedule with Critical Path, Milestone Chart, Risk Register, Issue & Blocker Log, Action Item Tracking Log, Change & Decision Log, Testing Log, and Lessons Learned Register.

Ensure project compliance with Clients Systems Development Life Cycle Controls (SDLC) and save appropriate evidence for SDLC Quarterly Controls Testing review.

Ensure project implementation meets IT Compliance, Security, Privacy and Legal requirements.

Leads and/or support projects Organizational Change Management (OCM) activities as needed.

Responsible for managing the relationship between IT and the business for the Workday program.

Coordinates with business, other IT business units as well as vendors within the assigned program to ensure proper project documentation and resource utilization across program.

Maintains strong customer focus while coordinating and collaborating with stakeholders, vendors, and IT resources by using effective verbal and written communication skills.

Provides leadership to the IT project team, fosters a positive team environment, and provides direction in ambiguous situations.

Utilizes negotiation skills to influence and creatively achieve successful outcomes around scope, schedule, budget, issues/risks, and resources for both internal and external stakeholders.

Proactively exercises initiative in identifying, tracking, and removing impediments to program success.

Approaches risk identification and mitigation, accordingly, including establishing contingency plans and initiating corrective action.

Understands how individual project workstreams affect the Workday program and exercises judgment in raising issues and risks to the executives.

Arbitrates and resolves conflicts within the program when necessary. Understands appropriate paths and methods for escalation.

must Have Specific Knowledge And Skills

Strong Workday background (managing Workday projects)

The project manager must have strong practical experience in project management, which was gained through managing large and complex projects.

Good knowledge and handling of project and program management methodology and techniques.

Good understanding of the wider objectives of the program.

Bachelor's degree in a related field required.

Strong leadership skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability to work positively with a wide range of individuals involved in program management.

Good knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.

The ability to find innovative ways to resolve problems.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

Excellent computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, database, graphics, and other relevant software.

Proficiency with MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and Project Management software/Smartsheet's.

10 years' experience in project management and quality management.

Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, multi-tasking environment.

Proven ability to interact with various levels of management and other Associates.

Additional Skills And Other Requirements

Experience with HR systems including Oracle and SAP

PMP preferred and a strong grasp of project management principles

Bachelors/4 Yr Degree
