    Are you ready to ignite your passion for nursing once again? Do you have a wealth of clinical knowledge and skills you'd love to share? Volunteering at LVIM, where we provide free medical care to the working uninsured, might be just what you need

    Join a team of like-minded nurses who share your passion for helping others. With their patient-centered listening skills, our dedicated RN/Telephone Triage Nurse volunteers assess the health concerns of our patients, either in-person or over the phone, and determine the appropriate level of medical care needed. These amazing nurses collaborate with our care coordination team to streamline the delivery of focused, high-quality care for our busy providers.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Perform patient triage by engaging in patient-centered communication through open-ended questions, active listening, and soliciting patients' areas of concern and expectations.
    • Assess the urgency and severity of patient conditions to determine the appropriate course of action.
    • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient interactions and triage outcomes.
    • Accurately relay important patient information to the attending provider for timely and efficient medical decision-making.

    Qualifications

    • Licensed Registered Nurse.
    • Significant experience with direct patient care.
    • Strong organizational and listening skills.
    • Proficient in using electronic health records (EHRs) systems to maintain accurate records.
    • Strong typing and computer ability necessary to document information gathered during a telephone conversation.
