    Title: Data Center Architect
    Location : San Francisco Bay , CA
    100% onsite.

    We are looking for a skilled Data Center Architect who can adapt to the changing demands of modern data centers. If you excel in a collaborative environment and have a passion for improving operational efficiency, then this role with our Data Center (DC) team might be the perfect fit for you! As a Data Center Architect, you will play a key role in planning and enhancing our data centers, overseeing equipment evaluation, space allocation, and providing technical guidance across the data center stack. Collaboration with IT, R&D, and InfoSec teams will be essential in implementing new requirements and initiatives.

    Responsibilities

    The responsibilities of the Data Center Architect include:

    • Managing the entire lifecycle of data centers from inception to decommissioning.
    • Designing data center layouts, power management, and wiremaps.
    • Assessing and recommending servers, network, and storage devices for new deployments.
    • Handling DCIM and Ticketing tools and enhancing data center automation.
    • Conducting failure mode trend analysis and suggesting improvements.
    • Collaborating with DC colleagues on process enhancements and energy optimization.
    • Addressing and initiating tickets through the ticketing system.
    • Providing regional support for office infrastructures as needed.

    Required Skills:

    The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

    • Experience working in data center environments independently.
    • Proficiency in rack and power management.
    • Involvement in establishing data center standards.
    • Hands-on experience with server, networking, and storage equipment.
    • Familiarity with server configurations and various operating systems.
    • Ability to work with automation software and scripts.
    • Competence in troubleshooting and repairing hardware components.
    • Knowledge of ticketing systems, DCIM tools, and monitoring systems.
    • Strong communication skills and self-motivation.

    Highly Desirable Skills:

    Valuable skills include:

    • Proficiency in program and project management.
    • Experience with Dell servers, Cisco networking, and EMC storage.
    • Familiarity with VMware virtualization and Omnissa/End-User-Computing solutions.
    • Knowledge of data center architectures, DDI, DCIM tools, and ticketing systems.
    • Expertise in Microsoft O365 tools and cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.
    • Experience with containerization and automation frameworks.
    • Understanding of storage and network protocols such as FC, iSCSI, VLAN, BGP, and more.
