- Teaching the equivalent of four to five 3-credit courses during each semester of the academic year, including courses within the forensic science discipline and related natural science fields, depending on candidate qualifications and staffing needs
- Serving as an academic advisor for undergraduate students
- Assisting with laboratory management
- Maintaining a program of scholarly activity that is conducive to mentoring student research
- Supervising student internships and research experiences
- Supporting the ongoing success and continued development of the forensic science undergraduate degree program

Edward's University, a nationally ranked, independent Catholic university and Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), invites applications for one or more full-time, 9-month faculty positions in forensic science, beginning August 2024.
Rank and tenure eligibility will be determined based on candidate qualifications. Initial appointment will be at the rank of assistant professor (tenure-track) or assistant teaching professor (specialized faculty). At St.Edward's University, specialized faculty are not tenure eligible but receive renewable contracts and have opportunities for promotion-in this case, to associate/full teaching professor.

In addition, candidates must demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching at the collegiate level, including an ability or potential to teach a range of undergraduate courses and support a diverse student body.
Candidates must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an educational philosophy consistent with the mission and vision of a liberal arts university.
Additional preferred qualifications include experience working in a crime laboratory or as a crime scene investigator, professional connections within the Texas forensic science and law enforcement communities (in particular, connections that would support student internships, professional development, and job placement), and previous experience with forensic science curriculum development.
