    Background:
    The Wayne County Airport Authority (WCAA) has oversight of Detroit Metropolitan (DTW) and Willow Run Airports (YIP). DTW was dedicated on September 4, 1930, that year Thompson Aeronautical Corporation, a forerunner of American Airlines, began service from the airport. Wayne County has expanded airport operations over the years to see DTW become Detroit's large hub airport. Today Detroit Metropolitan airport supports dozens of airlines and hundreds of destinations and 36M passengers globally.
    The Technology Services department of the Wayne County Airport Authority is responsible for providing and managing the Airport Authority's technology needs for both Detroit Metro and Willow Run airports. Technology Services operates with a Project Management process that oversees and tracks technology projects from feasibility to implementation; currently a hybrid agile methodology is used for project management. Many of the large projects require the utilization of an experienced project manager.
    Scope of Services:
    The Airport Authority is seeking full-time, qualified candidates who will utilize their knowledge, skills, and abilities to serve as a Project Manager. WCAA is seeking to fill 2 Project Manager positions. In this role, the ideal candidate will be:
    Essential Functions:
    Responsible for project planning and project management
    Manage project(s) including:
    o Development and maintenance of project schedule
    o Develop project charters
    o Coordination and chairing of project meetings
    o Tracking/managing action items, issues and risks
    o Escalating major issues as needed
    Align with project requirements (Gate Reviews, documentation deliverables, etc.)
    Manage third party vendors

    Expected Engagement Duration:
    Six (6) months with possible extension or possible hire.

    Important Details:
    • WCAA is issuing this solicitation to fill 2 Project Manager positions. For this solicitation companies may submit up to 5 eligible candidates.
    • The hiring team is requesting a cover sheet that briefly provides a short synopsis of how the prospective client meets the qualifications of the position and why the candidate is a good match for the position. Please do not include contractor rate information in the cover letter.
    • Potential candidates must be local or willing to relocate to start the position.
    • Work Location: The position will start onsite and have the option to eventually transition to hybrid
