Leidos is seeking a Cyber Architect to support research and development efforts focused on Zero Trust Architecture, cybersecurity maturity processes and cloud integrations.

The chosen candidate will support the implementation of a zero trust architecture in an hybrid on-premises/multi-cloud environment.

Primary Responsibilities
Integrate security concepts, controls, and mechanisms into the design and architecture phases to produce a reliably secure product.
Support research and development efforts focused on Zero Trust Architectures. Evaluate technologies and solutions to increase network security posture, decrease trust zones, mitigate insider threat, and identify high risk behaviors
Provides support to a team of Senior/Junior Security Engineers with a broad scope of capabilities that manage a security stack, including NGFW, SIEM, Cyber Asset Management, Vulnerability Management, ZTNA, , virtualization, networking protocols, multi-cloud technology, and other security operations-related technologies
Design and deploy Enterprise IT Security services
Perform analysis on vendor solutions to identify critical capabilities and suitability for varying customers. This includes aligning solutions for compliance with relevant cybersecurity standards and reference architectures (e.g. NIST SP , NIST SP , DoD ZTRA)
Perform trade studies and create associated reports. Lead technology insertion projects through all phases of SDLC
Work with external vendors to gain technology intelligence through product evaluations, deployments and demonstrations
Experience in capturing technical requirements and defining technical solutions in the form of conceptual, logical, and physical designs, including the ability to articulate those concepts verbally, graphically and in writing
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, or related field and 12+ years of architecting and cybersecurity experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Subject Matter Expert level knowledge of cyber security principles
Understanding of system engineering process and agile development
Experience performing research or trade studies on vendor security products. This includes capturing technical requirements and defining solutions.
Hands-on administration experience designing and managing IT infrastructure, virtualization platforms, network, cloud, security solutions.

Maintaining physical servers in datacenter, deploying and configuring vendor solutions such as endpoint management, vulnerability reporting, SIEM and identity management tools.

Hands-on experience designing, provisioning, configuring, and administering secure cloud resources in Azure and AWS

Experience providing Tier 2/3 technical support to end-user issues regarding zero trust lab resources
Active cyber security and cloud certifications (e.g. CISSP, CEH, Security+, CCSP, AWS SA, MCSA)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance (US citizenship)
Preferred Qualifications
Recent experience as a Cyber Engineer, Cyber Analyst, Network Engineer, or Security Systems Engineer
Understanding of Zero Trust Architecture or Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC)
Proficiency in administration in Microsoft Operating Systems, MacOS, and various Linux Distros
Ability to provide onsite technical support for the on-premises lab environment near Gaithersburg, MD
Knowledge of agile development processes and DevOps tools such as Jira and Confluence

Pay Range:
Pay Range $122, $220,900.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
