    JOB SUMMARY:

    The responsibility of this position is to promote the development and growth of the SMS Interventional X-ray business. The primary role will be to develop, track and close Interventional X-ray product business with all sales channels.

    Interventional X-ray Product Specialist will also be responsible for the training of the sales channel for Interventional X-ray products and processes, assist in the development of sales tools (product collaterals, product presentations, etc.), the development and maintenance of reference and show sites, the development of system prospects and frequent interface with the Director of the Interventional X-ray Business.

    This position will assist in the development of the SMS Interventional X-ray Sales Strategy to ensure on plan orders and sales performance. The person in this role will work closely with the National Sales Manager, Marketing Manager, and Sales Specialists, and x-ray engineering staff.

    Detailed duties and responsibilities listed below.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPOSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by the department manager.

    1. Assist in the definition and execution the SMS Interventional X-ray business plan consistent with the orders and sales goals. Will work closely with National Sales Manager, Marketing Manager, IXR Business Director, and National Service Business Manager to accomplish.

    2. Submit and track the monthly orders forecast to ensure monthly business achievement.

    3. Maintain accuracy and visibility of the IXR sales funnel. )

    4. Track and ensure the achievement of the SMS Interventional X-ray corporate margin guidelines.

    5. Understand all terms and conditions of sale and assist in managing T's & C's to assure a smooth order process.

    6. Communicate frequently with the Director of the IXR Business, National IXR Sales Manager, National Sales Manager and Sales Channel personnel in a pro-active manner, verbally and on-site. Must act as primary support contact for Sales Channel relative to the Interventional X-ray products.

    7. Support the development sales training programs for the SMS Sales Channel (sales training classes, meetings, communications, etc.).

    8. Define, create, produce, and implement sales tools, collaterals, sales programs and promotions for the sales channel.

    9. Assist in the coordination of the Interventional X-ray Applications personnel to ensure customer satisfaction.

    10. Learn and understand the Shimadzu Cardiac & Vascular x-ray product offerings.

    11. Participate in trade shows and trade show planning.

    12. Must understand competitive Interventional X-ray product offerings and pricing and develop accurate competitive reports for the sales channel, and SMS plan to respond or provide a "pro-active" sales approach to counter.

    13. Must remain current in the latest clinical and technology trends relative to the Interventional X-ray business, and continuously adjust the SMS strategy to meet those demands.

    14. Must have the capability to become quickly and pro-actively involved in potential customer/ channel problems to resolve quickly.

    15. Must manage all other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    This person must fulfill the obligations listed above while continuing to enhance his / her clinical and business knowledge to remain current or preferably ahead of clinical trends. This person must maintain the capability to transfer this knowledge to the SMS customers and sales channel and communicate closely with that channel. This position is key to the achievement of the SMS growth oriented business plan.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    · This person must have 1-3 years sales specialist experience in the Interventional X-ray field or related imaging field, with a focus on product sales, product business development, and budget achievement.

    · Sales Support experience is desired.

    · This person must possess, or equivalent to, a Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years' experience in Interventional X-ray.

    · This person must also maintain excellent inter-personal skills, a valid R.T. License would be a plus.

    · Excellent written, oral and presentation skills required. PC / laptop skills are essential.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    English required.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Business math skills required to design and execute an appropriate business strategy as well as skills commensurate with product planning.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Business reasoning capabilities required for this position. Must have the capability to reason, develop, and execute an appropriate business plan for the Interventional X-ray business as well as reasoning ability commensurate with sales and product planning.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    Must maintain a valid U.S. Passport

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Approximately 60 -70% travel required. Travel primarily throughout the United States. Travel to Japan, Canada, the Caribbean, and abroad are also possible. Must have the physical capability to meet the demands of the schedule (negotiate airports, hospitals, etc.).

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    The work environment is primarily on-site in hospitals and clinics as well as SMS Sales Channel Offices and Headquarters
