    Job Title: Team Leader at Great Lakes Water Authority


    Salary: $45.71 per hour (Based on Experience)


    Job Summary: As a Team Leader, you'll be in charge of supervising, guiding, and training staff at a Great Lakes Water Authority facility. You'll manage projects, assign tasks, and ensure all necessary reports are completed on time.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate and plan work assignments, manage projects, and organize crews
    • Manage annual budget items as assigned
    • Keep records and prepare reports, including logs and computer files
    • Attend meetings and maintain Standard Operating Procedures
    • Conduct performance evaluations of the team
    • Supervise staff across different shifts including days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays
    • Implement employee supervision practices and project management principles
    • Ensure safe work practices are followed


    Related Job Functions:

    As part of the role, you'll also assist in disaster preparedness, stay updated on technology and infrastructure, facilitate meetings, track attendance, approve purchases, and recommend operational efficiencies. Moreover, you'll ensure GLWA policies and procedures are adhered to and perform any related duties as assigned.


    Required Education and Experience:

    You should have an Associate Degree in a related field like Engineering, Chemistry, Accounting, or Human Resources, or a combination of relevant work experience and education. Additionally, a minimum of one year of supervisory experience and professional accreditation in the related field are required.


    Preferred Requirements:

    Having licenses such as Master Plumber, Millwright, Pipefitter, or Boiler Maker, as well as a Water Operator-Water Distribution S License, is preferred. Knowledge of troubleshooting, repairing, or replacing pumps and valves is also beneficial.


    Physical and Environmental Requirements:

    The role involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods, light to moderate lifting, reaching, pulling, carrying, manual dexterity, and audiovisual/linguistic acuity. The work will be split between office and field environments, with occasional irregular hours and on-call responses.


    Other Requirements:

    • Valid State of Michigan Driver's license
    • Ability to work irregular hours and respond to emergencies
