    Description

    Join our team as an Eligibility Specialist II at SNAP-CR:
    As part of the Office of Revenue, SNAP-CR is a unique department within HRA that handles SNAP overpayment evaluations while adhering to City, State, and Federal regulations. They are currently looking to hire two Eligibility Specialist IIs to work as Claims Review Specialists.

    • Review, process, and establish potential SNAP benefit overpayments.
    • Determine overpayment details using SNAP benefit rules and retrospective budgeting.
    • Initiate program violations sanctions and process fair hearing decisions.
    • Obtain necessary collateral information/documentation.
    • Complete eligibility forms and submit for supervisory review.
    • Prepare daily activity reports and perform other assigned tasks.

    Salary Range:
    $41,000 - $47,000

    Work Location:
    Pearl Street

    Hours/Schedule:
    Monday - Friday 9AM - 5PM

    Minimum Qualifications:
    1. Completion of 30 semester credits at an accredited college or university; or
    2. High school diploma and one year of full-time relevant experience; or
    3. Equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Preferred Skills:
    • Working knowledge of HRA/IREA systems like WMS, HRA Viewer, TALX, SOLQ, and NYCWAY.
    • Understanding of SNAP budgeting.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    55a Program:
    This position is open to qualified individuals with disabilities eligible for the 55-a Program.

    Public Service Loan Forgiveness:
    Prospective employees may be eligible for federal loan forgiveness programs and state repayment assistance programs.

    Residency Requirement:
    New York City residency may be required within 90 days of appointment, with certain exemptions for long-time City employees discussed during the interview process.
