At the University of Music Carl Maria von Weber Dresden, the Faculty I is seeking to fill the position of Artistic Associate (m/f/d) in the field of piano, starting on September 1st, 2023.


The University of Music Carl Maria von Weber Dresden combines the preservation of musical heritage with the innovative energy of contemporary music.

We see artistic education as an important part of personal development and an inspiring contribution to social cohesion. With this goal in mind, we currently educate around 700 young people from all over the world.


The responsibilities of the position include teaching, conducting exams, and organizing the piano minor at the Saxon State Gymnasium for Music.

Collaboration with other departments of the University of Music is expected.

Furthermore, the duties correspond to the tasks for artistic associates listed in § and (2) of the Saxon Higher Education Act.

The teaching load is 12 semester hours per week, corresponding to a 50% position.

The prerequisite for employment is a completed university degree in piano.


A minimum of two years of teaching experience at a university and relevant experience in musical youth work is desirable.

The audition will include a 20-minute artistic performance, two teaching demonstrations, and a colloquium. The date is scheduled for May 2023.
