- Develop and implement a comprehensive calendar of social and educational programming, with a specific focus on diversity, multiculturalism, inclusion, and social justice. Programs include but are not limited to NJIT's diversity dialogue series, heritage month-long celebration programs, awareness day programming, student organization events, identity-based student organization retreat, heritage month programs, MLK Celebration Program, etc.
- Provide direct support to the Director on campus diversity engagement priorities as directed.
- Oversee all identitybased student organizations at NJIT and work with the identitybased student organization faculty/staff advisors to ensure the student organizations are successful, are equipped with resources, and various methods of support.
- Provide guidance, oversight, and/or support for various NJIT initiatives, policy development to the faculty/staff advisors of the 20+ multicultural, spiritual, and identitybased student organizations
- Coordinate with the Office of Student Life and other campus advisors to ensure student organizational success.
- Serve as Chair/Co-Chair of the campuswide programming committees related to diversity and inclusion efforts.
- Collaborate with various campus partners to guide, support, and promote programs and activities that highlight, educate, and celebrate the history and contributions of diverse peoples and identities.
- Serve as a campus liaison between local and national organizations and work to connect students to these networks/resources.
- Assist and/or lead major campus activities such as New Student Orientations, Admission Open Houses, Homecoming/Family Day, and civic engagement.
- Recommend new policies and revisions to existing policies to serve students.
- Develop metrics to assess programs and initiatives pertaining to diversity and inclusion on campus.
- May manage workstudy students and graduate interns.
- Other duties as assigned
- Graduate degree (Master's) in the humanities, social sciences, education, or STEM.
- At least four years of leading programs and projects at a college or university.
- Minimum of three years of experience working with college students in a cocurricular environment through civic engagement, student affairs, or academic affairs.
- Flexibility to accommodate work schedule demands which may include attendance at evening and/or weekend events.
- Intermediate Proficiency in Microsoft Office (word, PowerPoint, excel) and other technology.
- Demonstrated experience in fostering positive intergroup and interpersonal relationships and community building.
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities and demonstrated ability to establish, maintain and adjust priorities as circumstances warrant.
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position

The Office of Inclusive Excellence was implemented at NJIT in the Spring of 2023 under the leadership of the inaugural Chief Diversity Officer and is well positioned and resourced to be a valuable contributor to the NJIT campus community and its external partners.
We achieve our mission through the collaboration and partnership with internal and external stakeholders to collectively work toward greater equity, inclusion and belonging for our diverse campus community.
Reporting to the Director, the Associate Director for Inclusive Excellence serves as a member of the Office of Inclusive Excellence leadership team and oversees student diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging for New Jersey Institute of Technology.
The Associate Director is responsible for the development, implementation, and assessment of programs that support strategic diversity and inclusion initiatives across the university, with a particular focus on student engagement.
The Associate Director will collaborate with campus partners and some administrative leaders to influence policies, implement programs, and identify resources needed to create an inclusive environment for our diverse student population.
This role is critical because it will provide direct student contact and engagement.Essential Functions:
The Associate Director will be expected to lead with inquiry, integrity, and compassion while ensuring that the deliverables of the office are met.
