Würth Baer Supply Company is searching for a
Warehouse Lead for our Distribution Center in
Elk Grove Village, IL.


This particular branch is where we store our board and sheet goods for the Midwest region. This includes mostly large plywood sheets 8 to 12 feet in length and 4 to 5 feet in width.

It is important you are comfortable with the physical aspects of this role, since you will be very hands on with the material all day using your forklift.
Join our growing and dynamic team and help us in receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping. You will interact with customers when they come to pick up their orders. You will handle customer inquiries and concerns with courtesy, respect, professionalism and a high sense of urgency. Coordinate and lead the activities for designated work area. Activities include managing inventory accurately and safely in the effort of meeting or exceeding customer and company requirements. Leads by example in these activities and assists supervisor with managing, directing, and training the warehouse associates.


Position Responsibilities:


  • Lead and assist in daily warehouse and shipping areas including: Filling and shipping customer orders, satisfying internal shipping requirements (technical service, vendors, etc.), ensuring accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation, receiving incoming material and routing to appropriate area or personnel, filling work orders, packaging and auditing orders, ensuring inventory transactions are accurately logged and overseeing cycle counts and reconciliation activities.
  • Provide handson leadership of the warehouse staff and drivers to maximize productivity and accuracy in their job functions by spending no less than 75% of his/her time on the warehouse floor. Utilizes weekly benchmark reports, performance posting, and goal setting to measure and communicate the results of performance for each individual/department.
  • Prioritizes daytoday tasks to ensure warehouse success.
  • Utilizes the Warehouse Activity Monitor to be certain all warehouse functions are completed within the appropriate time frames.
  • Other duties and assignments that may be required or necessitated as a result of change in the job requirements.

Qualifications:


  • Requires a high school diploma and a combination of over two years of directly related training and/or experience for carrying out the responsibilities of the position.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including: a variety of standing, sitting and walking throughout the day; repeated twisting at the torso while lifting and pulling inventory from shelves; regular lifting of up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting of 4070 pounds, occasional climbing of ladders; usage of pallet jacks
  • Computer literate, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and familiarization with WMS software.

Skills and Abilities:


  • SAP system knowledge is highly preferred.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and successfully complete and pass Wurth Baer Supply's forklift certification program.
  • Strong communication skills to respond to situations in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Ability to lead others.
  • Must be highly organized.
  • Good listening and problem resolution skills.
  • Energetic and highly motivated to succeed.
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
