    Description

    Job Title: Assistant Store Manager

    Palmetto Moon is an expanding retailer specializing in apparel, accessories, home decor, and gifts that embrace the essence of Southern living.     As an Assistant Store Manager at Palmetto Moon, your role entails providing crucial support to the Store Manager in various key areas:

    COMMUNICATION

    • Foster strong collaborations with the Store Manager, Visual Merchandising, and hourly shift managers to execute store initiatives and achieve objectives
    • Effectively relay business and financial goals to the Store Manager. Offer insights to management and the team on store performance, customer trends, and store requirements
    • Cultivate a customer-centric mindset among all employees
    • Maintain a positive attitude and ensure clear communication within the store team

    BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

    • Collaborate with the Store Manager to analyze business trends and devise strategies to boost sales and manage expenses for increased profitability
    • Monitor and assess financial, operational, and service metrics, and hold the team accountable for achieving store targets
    • Oversee staffing levels and identify optimization opportunities
    • Uphold high store standards in terms of visuals, cleanliness, inventory management, and safety in alignment with company protocols
    • Demonstrate adaptability in a dynamic environment and lead the team towards meeting commitments
    • Prioritize delivering exceptional customer experiences on a daily basis

    TEAM DEVELOPMENT

    • Coach, motivate, and train the store team to meet financial objectives, enhance performance, and elevate customer service standards
    • Collaborate with the Store Manager to identify talent pool strengths and nurture high-potential individuals to establish a robust leadership pipeline
    • Participate in recruiting endeavors to attract top talent and seek HR guidance when necessary
    • Foster a team-oriented culture by acknowledging outstanding performance

    Qualifications

    • Prior retail experience is essential
    • Proficiency in merchandising
    • Enjoyment in engaging with customers
    • Reliable and flexible with work schedules
    • Openness to learning and following instructions
    • Strong leadership capabilities
    • Detail-oriented approach
    • Physically capable of bending, twisting, standing for extended periods, and lifting items up to 50 lbs
