    Overview


    Senior Mechanical EngineerOur team is searching for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to drive product development activities and mechanical design best practices.

    In this role you will have the opportunity work on a wide variety of product designs from concept development through production support.

    The Location:
    Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position is based in the oceanside community of Torrance, CA. One of the best places to live in California with ocean beaches, plenty of parks and endless sunny days.

    Responsibilities

    As Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will:Design new antenna products and components, and then develop your concepts into CREO models and mechanical drawings to capture design detailsChampion continuous improvement in our product designs and in our mechanical engineering practices, identifying and implementing improvementsServe as project manager for cross-functional product development teams and meet customer deliverable requirementsSupport new business development through evaluating proposed mechanical requirements, generating compliance matrices, and generating technical responses to requests for proposal (RFPs)Support sales, product management, and operations by addressing customer questions, completing feasibility studies, supporting customer calls, and troubleshooting issues Conduct root cause analysis investigations for product mechanical issues, and then recommend, implement, and document corrective actionsDocument product design and manufacturing process changes through Engineering Change OrdersIncorporate design for manufacturing principles into product designsLead environmental test planning, execution, and documentation efforts against environmental requirements such as RTCA/DO-160G and MIL-STD-810GCollaborate with our parent company's mechanical engineering team to implement common engineering processes and best practices

    Qualifications

    Must-Have:
    Minimum 8 years relevant work experience. Level of position commensurate with experience and expertiseExperience with CREO (Pro/Engineer) mechanical designExperience designing products for the aerospace and/or defense industriesKnowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and stackup analysisKnowledge of robustness standards (MIL-STD-810, DO-160)

    Experience designing products for the aerospace, defense, and/or marine industriesExperience with FAA certification processExperience with thermal and/or structural analysis toolsExperience designing molded parts Familiarity with AutoCAD to modify legacy drawingsExperience leading product development project teams

    This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule.

    The Company reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range or offer other compensation depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state or federal law.

    Our benefits and bonus plans are reviewed annually and are subject to change at the company's discretion.


    Hiring Salary Range:
    :
    $122,600 - $196,100 per annum

    Bonus Eligibility:
    We offer a company profit share and individual incentive-based bonus programs
