GRADUATE ADMISSIONS COUNSELOR- PROFESSIONAL SERVICES SPECIALIST 3

JOB SUMMARY:The Graduate Admissions Counselor at New Jersey City University (NJCU) will collaborate closely with the Director of Graduate Admissions to execute strategic recruitment initiatives and engage with prospective graduate students.

This role entails representing NJCU recruitment events, managing communications through Slate CRM system, and contributing to admissions event planning.

The Graduate Admissions Counselor will serve as a vital member of the admissions team, playing a key role in attracting and enrolling new graduate students while providing comprehensive guidance on the admissions process and academic offerings.


  • Partner with the Director of Graduate Admissions to establish outreach objectives, including the development of feeder programs with high schools, communitybased organizations, and faith communities.
  • Manage communication initiatives, database maintenance, content creation, and CRM messaging to ensure effective engagement with prospective students.
  • Establish effective communication channels with prospective students introducing them to NJCU graduate programs and guiding them through the admissions journey.
  • Plan and execute admissions yield events, including information sessions, workshops, and open houses, to enhance student engagement and enrollment.
  • Coordinate the development, documentation, and maintenance of communication materials while providing training support to staff as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with academic departments and the marketing team to support recruitment efforts and promote NJCU's graduate programs.
  • Prepare clear, technically sound reports containing insights and recommendations to assess the effectiveness of outreach initiatives.
  • Assist the Director in evaluating proposed publications and utilize Peoplesoft reports as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree required.


EXPERIENCE:
(1) One year of Professional experience in higher education institutions, with admissions experience _preferred_.
