    Christ's Church of the Valley is one of the largest and fastest-growing churches in America. We are a church that is dedicated to WIN people to Christ, TRAIN believers to become disciples and SEND disciples to impact the world. CCV is one church with many locations. The Finance Department helps to coordinate the daily operations of CCV as well as plans for future growth. The purpose of the Staff Accountant position is to assist the ministry efforts of the Finance Team through preparation of financial records to accurately track assets, liabilities, income and expenses and other related financial activities.

    Job Description

    Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements and supporting reports for multiple entities
    • Contribution processing - weekly
    • Maintain the general ledger
    • Monthly bank account reconciliations
    • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
    • Monthly variance reports to analyze contributions and expenses ensuring they are recorded appropriately
    • Assist with financial and tax audits
    • Development and maintenance of financial systems and policies to ensure effective stewardship of church resources
    • Special projects and other duties as assigned
    Qualifications

    • Regularly attends worship services with their family
    • Is an active participant in a neighborhood group, a transformation group and is a regular tither
    Chemistry
    • Maintains strict confidentiality with sensitive information
    • Able to keep assigned deadlines within a fast-paced environment
    • Acts and operates independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives

    Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
    • Minimum of 2 years of related accounting experience
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent knowledge of general accounting practice
    • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and communicate in a professional manner
    • Microsoft Office experience, excellent working knowledge of Excel
    • Must be able to pass an Accounting Proficiency test
