    Job Functions (Essential)
    1. Support, prepare and perform diesel engine development, calibration and engineering support work in an engine dynamometer test cell and if necessary, in the field.
    2. Support, prepare and perform the testing of prototype engines, engine components, and after treatment systems by working with test cell operators to execute tests and development programs.
    3. Develop, analyze and evaluate unique engineering solutions with consideration of factors such as system effectiveness, reliability, configuration, emission regulations, customer requirements and cost.
    4. Conduct tests and use analytical tools such as DoE and modeling to optimize calibration parameters.
    5. Support, prepare and carry out engine emissions certification processes including test cell preparation, test execution, data analysis and report generation according to regulatory and company standards.
    6. Document preparation, execution and analysis of tasks performed according to highest engineering standards and remain technically current
    7. Support, prepare and carry out functional performance and component tests.
    8. Support the validation and release of calibrations into production.
    9. Help developing technically reasonable and feasible alternatives with regards to time and money for challenges occurring during the progress of the project.
    10. Use and constantly optimize project management procedures including commonly known and individually created program management, tracking and forecasting tools.
    11. Provide field support for After Sales and Applications departments whenever complex issues require engineering support.
    12. Provide support for production and train production staff whenever complex issues require engineering support.
    13. Communicate and consult with Engineering and Design departments worldwide.
    14. Help to manage, track and communicate project status, project budget and project forecast.
    15. Mentor less experienced engineers, allowing them to learn from your experiences.
    16. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
    17. Perform special projects as required.
    18. Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls- Royce Code of Conduct.

    1. 50% cubical workplace (project planning and management, data analysis, coordination of assignment, etc.)
    2. 50% test cell (on-site company owned test cell, test cell at a third-party provider, on-site production test cells, field test site, etc.)

    Qualifications:

    Qualifications (Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)Required:
    1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and minimum of 3 years of engineering experience calibrating and testing combustion engines or 7 years of engineering experience calibrating and testing combustion engines.
    2. Experience with combustion engine performance and emissions calibration in a dynamometer test cell
    3. Strong knowledge of engine control units and their operation
    4. Experience with engine-specific instrumentation, data acquisition systems, signal processing and data management
    5. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and the ability to balance the application of academic theory and engineering judgment
    6. Strong organizational, planning and follow-up skills
    7. Strong interpersonal and team working skills
    8. Strong oral and written communication skills
    9. Strong ability to adapt to new circumstances quickly
    10. Ability to travel - domestic and international
    11. Must be available to work flexible hours including night shifts and weekends
    Preferred:
    1. Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical or Electrical engineering
    2. Experience with ETAS INCA, AVL CAMEO and AVL PUMA
    3. Experience with AVL emissions measurement equipment
    4. Experience with emissions legislation (40CFR Part1065)
    5. Experience with MTU applications such as Power Generation, Marine, Oil and Gas, Mining and Rail
