Sunday June 9- Tuesday June 11 and Friday June 14th

Camp Dates:
June 1- August 2, July 4 and July 5)

Camp Hours: 8:30am to 4:00pm


Key Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate details, schedules, and production for planned activities and theme days
  • Implement and execute all planned activities with great organization and clear details
  • Incorporate camp values, traditions, and special events into programs.
  • Oversee the preparation and participate in group activities.
  • Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of the campers and staff
  • Ensure the care of equipment and cleanliness of camp facilities.
  • Arrival and dismissal duties as needed.
  • Exhibit a high level of energy and enthusiasm, with a positive and flexible attitude and demeanor.
  • Evaluate camp program and activities at the conclusion of camp.
  • Provide support and conflict resolution when issues arise.
  • Contribute content about weekly activity curriculum for newsletters and social media posts
  • Foster and maintain positive working relationships with all camp staff.
  • Lift/move children up to 40 lbs.
  • Demonstrate physical stamina and agility required to be mobile for long periods throughout the day.
  • Stand for long periods of time and be able to run and actively engage physically with children.
  • Move from sitting (chair and floor) to standing position easily and quickly.
  • React with physical and mental alertness in emergency situations.
  • Use hands for grasping equipment and play material.
  • Supervise children by sight and sound.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate in a manner that children understand.
  • Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children in the program.
  • Consistently demonstrate and reinforce the values of caring, respect, honesty, and responsibility.
  • Know the difference between appropriate and inappropriate behaviors. Prevent, circumvent, and deal with problem behaviors appropriately and effectively.
  • Must be able to rotate head side to side to scan the environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate, motivate and communicate with children and adults.
  • Ability to speak clearly and articulately with a loud tone of voice.
  • Mental alertness; sustain concentration for long periods of time.
  • Mental abilities: Attention to detail; manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • React with physical and mental alertness in emergency situations and assist in evacuation of buildings.
  • Perform other tasks as needed.

Qualifications:


  • College degree preferred.
  • Experience in camping, teaching and/or a related field.
  • Supervisory experience highly preferred.
  • Desire to work and interact with children.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and lead and direct other staff.
  • Possessing specialty skills and the ability to teach skills to campers.
  • Ability to plan and implement daily lesson plans and special programs.
  • Team Player
  • Demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for creating a warm, inviting, and inclusive environment for children and staff.

Compensation:

JCC Apachi Day Camps offer a great stipend, bonus opportunities and a fun work environment This is a stipend position and pay varies based on experience.
