Description

Client Energy is currently bringing to market the GridStar Flow battery for long-term grid energy storage, aiming to enhance grid resilience and reduce carbon emissions.

The battery is developed using a unique chemistry based on redox-active inorganic compounds.

Joining the team for a 3-6 month period, the candidate will collaborate closely with experienced PhD chemists and engineers to innovate and streamline synthetic processes for upcoming electrolyte compounds.
Operating independently in a cutting-edge chemistry lab, the tasks will include executing various chemical reactions spanning organic and inorganic chemistry, conducting air-free synthesis, and handling reactions at different scales from grams to kilograms; tracking progress using metrics like reaction yield and cost efficiency.
Utilizing analytical techniques such as HPLC, LC-MS, NMR, UV-vis, cyclic voltammetry, alongside other methods for data collection and analysis to further refine processes and reduce costs.
Responsibilities also include maintaining the laboratory environment, as well as documenting and sharing findings with peers and higher management.
Furthermore, the role entails preparing detailed reports and technology transfer documents when necessary.
