***: Scribe will accompany physician in the outpatient clinic and document during patient visits. This is an excellent opportunity to gain clinical exposure, learn patient exam workflow and medical decision-making, strengthen medical terminology knowledge and develop documentation skills.Position:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
- Performs accurate, real time charting of patient encounters. Timely enters patient information, including but not limited to patient history, physical exams, diagnostic findings, lab and test results, consultations with other providers, emergency department treatment course, diagnoses, discharge instructions and prescriptions.
- Ensures complete documentation in the EHR, gathering information for the patient's visit, and partnering with the physician to deliver the pinnacle of efficient patient care.
- Interacts professional with patients (the scribe observes but does not directly assist with patient care), physicians, hospital staff and other coworkers.
- Complies with hospital and HIPAA policies, including those relating to confidentiality of patient information.
- Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to training other Scribes and staff.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to actively listen.
- Ability to observe and to draft a narrative account of events accurately and cogently, in grammaticallycorrect English.
- Ability to spell proofread and edit written text.
- Keyboard proficiency (approximately 70 words/minute).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, highlystressful environment that routinely involves exposure to highlysensitive personal medical issues.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and patients.
- Ability to problem solve under pressure.
- Ability to communicate and interact professionally with others.
- Understanding of and commitment to appropriate protection of confidential patient information.
- Commitment to high professional ethical standards.
