- Provide well-optimized designs that meet customer specifications, following company guidelines.
- Design experiments and testing methods to validate product design and durability.
- Develop and maintain detailed engineering documents, including manufacturing and assembly drawings, tooling drawings, and bills-of-manufacturing.
- Engage with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing personnel to clarify design criteria and resolve questions.
- Utilize computer-aided engineering and design software to perform analysis and design tasks.
- Represent Betts Company professionally in all interactions with stakeholders.
- Contribute to special projects and initiatives as required.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices by participating in educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and engaging with professional networks and societies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Proficient in CAD Data Analysis (SolidWorks preferred).
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 1-2 years of related experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with coil spring, leaf spring, and Torsion bar design.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) encouraged.
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff and management at all levels.
- Proficient in MS Office software.
- Ability to interpret assembly and component drawings and engineering specifications.
- Familiarity with analytical techniques and statistical analysis.
- Understanding of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and statistical theory.

Our Design Engineers play a critical role in our organization, ensuring strict adherence to our quality management systems while fostering innovation and collaboration across various departments. Our engineering department works full-time, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with regular attendance at the office being essential.
