Your key responsibilitiesIt's fair to say there's no average day for a Credits and Incentives Tax Manager – so you're likely to spend your time on a diverse array of projects, responsibilities and tasks.
Whatever you're working on, our clients will turn to you for up-to-the-minute location, incentives and tax advice upon which they can always rely.
To make that happen, you'll be working in a highly collaborative culture, where listening to and sharing information with colleagues is an essential part of the role in advising external clients relating to economic development grants, tax credits and incentives.
Skills and attributes for successAnalyzing an evolving portfolio of complex business operations to provide meaningful insights into statutory and discretionary incentives which are key to location investment decisionsIdentifying potential opportunities and risks and communicating these to our clientsLearning and researching current market trends, to maintain your credibility as a trusted advisorDeveloping clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve our clients' tax activitiesResearching our clients' business operations and building long-lasting relationships to tailor your advice to their specific needsSupervising project processes, such as opportunity scoping, drafting Statements of Work, reporting on project status and next steps, and initiating client billingDelivering final client deliverables such as incentives analyses and documentation, incentives applications, and credits and incentives compliance documentationInteracting with client stakeholder teams on data gathering and analysis, real estate and capital investment planning, and business tax credits and incentives projectsSupervising a motivated team of professionals, guaranteeing they have the skills, knowledge and opportunities to reach their full potentialTo qualify for the role, you must haveA bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related disciplineProfessional knowledge in a broad range of state and local Credits and Incentives tax processes, concepts and toolsExperience managing budgets, people and projectsA proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization and will consider prior experience in state or local government and economic development organizationsTechnical writing and research experience in a tax contextThe ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projectsStrong influencing skills, and the confidence to question existing processesWillingness to travel as needed, and working in a balanced hybrid environmentYou'll also haveAn achieved CPA qualification, certification as a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation or be a member of a state barWhat we look forWe're interested in people with initiative who are not afraid to speak up, with a genuine desire to make things better across the business.

The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $94600 to $ The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $113500 to $ Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
