The Payroll Specialist will perform all payroll related activities including reviewing timecards for compliance to company and project requirements, maintaining payroll related records, filing voluntary deduction forms, processing involuntary deductions.


JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Primary Job Functions will include:

  • Process Timesheets and Imports and reviews labor distribution postings, timesheet corrections, tax filings and all labor and payroll related production.
  • Prepare payrolls and maintain payroll information
  • Creates and update records, exemptions, coverage etc...
  • Reconciles Reports to Deltek Cost Point to ensure all postings are prepared accurately and timely.
  • Prepares and transmits files to vendors.
  • Prepares G/L entries for processing.
  • Reconciles the payroll accounts and resolves payroll discrepancies.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements.
  • Reviews and approves all tax related filings, auditor requests and timekeeping exports and postings.
  • Researches and provides analysis of various payroll, labor and payroll tax issues that may arise in the normal course of business
  • Maintains accuracy and integrity of payroll records
  • Works with ADP to prepare and review quarterly and annual reconciliations to include W2 forms, 940 and 941 forms.
  • Utilizes various vendor systems as well as HRB/Payroll systems to benefits for all active and terminated employees
  • Establishes payroll tax accounts in various jurisdictions.
  • Prepares audit information for all annual audits, including Workers Compensation
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:


  • 3+ years payroll experience or related field
  • Experienced with SCA/H&W/Union is a plus
  • Must be Customer Service Oriented
  • Must be familiar with ADP and Deltek Cost Point
  • Knowledge of MS Office and proficiency in Microsoft products
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multitasks simultaneously
  • Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational/communication skills
  • Must be responsive, be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work in a fast paced environment
