- Defend litigation cases throughout Louisiana with frequent travel and occasional overnight stays.
- Handle all assigned litigation and legal matters for GuideOne and its policyholders.
- Prepare motions, pleadings, and conduct depositions, hearings, trials, appeals, and communicate with the claims department.
- Present cases from inception through trial or appeal independently.
- Work on a mix of commercial property, coverage, personal injury, and wrongful death cases.
- Eligible for remote work.
- Licensed to practice law in Louisiana.
- Graduate from an accredited law school.
- Minimum five years of insurance defense litigation experience.
- Trial experience is a plus.
- Admission or eligibility for federal court admission.
- Ability to handle a high volume case load with minimal supervision.
- Previous in-house experience preferred.

We are looking to add a Litigation Counsel to our team in Louisiana. As the Litigation Counsel, you will be responsible for defending cases across the State of Louisiana.
To thrive in this role, you need to be a self-starter, highly organized, detail-oriented, and willing to travel for single-day trips and occasional overnight stays.
This position does not involve billable hour requirements.
