- Manage and supervise the service department staff, including technicians, mechanics, and support personnel.
- Ensure that all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships and open lines of communication with customers to ensure their satisfaction and loyalty.
- Implement strategies to maximize efficiency and profitability within the service department.
- Create and monitor annual service department goals and budget.
- Effectively manage the service schedule, ensuring timely completion of work within budget constraints.
- Address and resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and professionally.
- Maintain proper maintenance and storage of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and performance of the service department staff.
- Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure seamless operations and exceptional service.
- Submit all service, campaign, and warranty claims on time to maximize credit.
- Complete necessary training to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Previous experience in a service management role, preferably within the heavy equipment industry or a related field.
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to effectively manage a team and foster a positive work environment.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports.
- Capability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Clean driving record.
- Standing, walking, talking, sitting, and use of hands.
- This job mostly involves sitting or standing, but there may be occasional tasks that involve lifting or moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
