Hours:
Saturday: 7AM - 5PM

Sunday: 7AM - 5PM

Monday: 12:00PM - Close (approximately 6:00PM)

Tuesday: 12:00PM - Close (approximately 6:00PM)

Friday: 2:00PM - Close (approximately 6:00PM)

Flexibility needed to cover for vacations/ occasional weekends.


JOB DESCRIPTION


The Security Specialist will be responsible for performing routine tasks in Security areas after formal training on department-specific operating procedures.

Working under the direction of the Security Director, the Security Specialist will perform any assigned tasks in the areas of security of the facility and staff.

This role requires a security professional with a strong understanding of security practices, compliance requirements, and the ability to respond effectively to security incidents.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Security Operations:
  • Monitor and manage security systems, including surveillance cameras, access control, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Conduct routine security patrols, inspections, and perimeter checks to identify and address vulnerabilities.
  • Respond to security alarms and incidents, coordinating with law enforcement and emergency response teams when necessary.
  • Access Control and Visitor Management:
  • Enforce access control procedures, ensuring that only authorized personnel enter restricted areas.
  • Verify the identification of employees, visitors, and contractors, issuing appropriate badges or passes.
  • Maintain accurate records of visitor logs and access activities.
  • Incident Reporting and Documentation:
  • Document and report security incidents, accidents, and any suspicious activities in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams, including Operations, Compliance, and Management, to address security concerns and implement necessary improvements.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure a coordinated response to security incidents.
  • Adhere to all state and company standard operating procedures and regulations

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in security operations, preferably in a regulated industry such as cannabis, pharmaceuticals, or manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of security systems, access control, surveillance technology, and emergency response procedures.
  • Familiarity with local and state security regulations specific to the cannabis industry.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent problemsolving skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Prior cannabis experience is not required
  • Prior experience in a highly regulated field like healthcare or cannabis is preferred
  • Ability to perform manual labor, including but not limited to working seated and standing for extended periods of time on concrete floors, maintaining body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, and using your hands to hold, grasp, turn, pick, and pinch to complete tasks
  • Ability to adhere to strict standard operating procedures
  • Stand for long periods of time, walk, reach with hands and arms, as well as consistently lift 1020 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work individually and in small teams to complete cultivation duties
  • Have a high attention to detail and ability to focus on complex and sensitive processes
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and consistent attendance to ensure uninterrupted business operations
  • Communicate with peers and management clearly, with kindness and respect
  • Flexibility and adaptability necessary to focus on shifting priorities in a growing startup
  • Ability to perform overtime and weekend shifts on a per need basis
