Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team. The CFO will play a pivotal role in overseeing all financial aspects of our diverse operations, including early childhood education centers and recreational facilities. This position requires a hands-on approach, with a focus on strategic financial planning, team leadership, and operational alignment. Key Responsibilities: Financial Strategy and Planning:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies to support the company's growth objectives.
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to optimize profitability and efficiency.
  • Financial Operations Management:
  • Oversee all financial functions, including accounting, payroll, treasury, taxation, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate risk.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance and support to departmental staff, empowering them to excel in their roles.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Stakeholder Relations:
  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership and department heads to align financial goals with operational priorities.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to operations district directors and front-line childcare center directors, understanding their challenges and providing financial insights to support their success.
  • Communicate financial performance, forecasts, and strategic initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Subject Matter Expertise:
  • Serve as the primary subject matter expert on financial matters, including GAAP principles, taxation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in finance and accounting.
  • Provide thought leadership and guidance on complex financial issues and opportunities.
  • Qualifications:
  • CPA designation is required.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong expertise in financial planning and analysis, budget management, and financial reporting.
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and a focus on execution and results.
  • Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by frontline childcare center managers.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • SaaS knowledge to include Paycor, Prophix, Great Plains, or equivalent services
