The State Theaters Mainz GmbH is looking for a
Referentin (m/w/d) of the Theater Management for the 2023/24 season or for an earlier start for training.

The State Theater Mainz is a multi-genre house, consisting of opera, drama, contemporary dance, and concerts. All genres also produce productions for the children and youth theater justmainz.

The house has various venues that are used by all genres in a wide repertoire. In total, about thirty premieres are produced per season.


As a Referent*in of the Theater Management, you will be the trusted person of the Managing Theater Director and the Intendant of the State Theaters Mainz GmbH and work in a team with other Referent*innen.


Among other things, the following tasks await you with us:

  • You coordinate the appointments mainly of the Managing Theater Director and ensure a smooth daily routine.
  • You actively support the theater management in changing operational and strategic issues.
  • You are responsible for the preparation and followup of meetings and work appointments, as well as research, reports, and preparation of changing topics for decisionmaking (mainly for the Managing Theater Director).
  • Together with the other Referent*innen, you are responsible for the operational implementation of projects and special events.
  • You independently handle correspondence with external partners and customers, as well as internally with employees, and are a central interface to other departments.
  • You support the team in the preparation
