The Position:


Major performance areas are:

  • Project Planning and Management involves identification of project objectives, scope, feasibility, justifications, milestones and completion schedule, coordination of resources, administering contracts, and preparation of supporting documentation.
  • Technical Support involves responding to verbal and written requests for engineering inspections and evaluations, providing technical support to other departments and engineers, and reviewing contractor and vendor document submittals.
  • Administration involves assisting in preparation and monitoring of budget, participating in various committees and coordination of capital projects,
  • Written and Oral Communication involves preparation of memos, letters, and engineering reports; conducting and participating in meetings, presenting papers, proposals, reports, and recommendations to a wide variety of audiences including District Engineering Operations and Maintenance staff, public agencies, government bodies, professional organizations, and members of the general public.

Requirements:


  • A bachelor's degree in an engineering curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or a California Engineer in Training Certificate; and,
  • Two years* of professional civil, electrical, mechanical, control systems, geotechnical, sanitary, or structural engineering experience, at a level comparable to or higher than EBMUD's Junior Engineer classification, after obtaining the education outlined above.
  • Must possess a valid California driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
  • A graduate level degree in an accredited engineering curriculum may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

Temporary Construction (TC) - Full-time, Temporary Construction (TC) employees are eligible for health benefits but are not members of the EBMUD Employees' Retirement Plan and do not have civil service status.


NOTE:
EBMUD employees with Civil Service status retain all benefits.
