The Position:

Major performance areas are:

Project Planning and Management involves identification of project objectives, scope, feasibility, justifications, milestones and completion schedule, coordination of resources, administering contracts, and preparation of supporting documentation.
Technical Support involves responding to verbal and written requests for engineering inspections and evaluations, providing technical support to other departments and engineers, and reviewing contractor and vendor document submittals.
Administration involves assisting in preparation and monitoring of budget, participating in various committees and coordination of capital projects,
Written and Oral Communication involves preparation of memos, letters, and engineering reports; conducting and participating in meetings, presenting papers, proposals, reports, and recommendations to a wide variety of audiences including District Engineering Operations and Maintenance staff, public agencies, government bodies, professional organizations, and members of the general public.

Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in an engineering curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or a California Engineer in Training Certificate; and,
Two years* of professional civil, electrical, mechanical, control systems, geotechnical, sanitary, or structural engineering experience, at a level comparable to or higher than EBMUD's Junior Engineer classification, after obtaining the education outlined above.
Must possess a valid California driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record.
Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
A graduate level degree in an accredited engineering curriculum may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
