At V2X, we are making a difference by providing support to programs at NAVAIR. This office is responsible for research, development, acquisition, and sustainment of the Navy's Autonomous Aircraft program
. We are looking for a Mid-Level System Safety Engineer to support the execution of Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) research and development (R&D) programs by assisting in the coordination of all technical activities of the program office in alignment with sponsor desires and sound engineering practices. This position is located on-site in Patuxent River, MD and requires the candidate to have an active U.S. DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
Responsibilities
Major Job Activities:
Assisting the Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (APMSE) with program-level / cross-project technical guidance on system safety.
Interaction and program representation with numerous stakeholders and technical exchange forums.
Assessment of technical risk and mitigation alternatives in regards to system safety.
Tailoring of engineering standards and controls for appropriate technical oversight of technology efforts.
Creation and tracking of project technical transition criteria.
Other technical support duties as may arise from either the Program Lead or APMSE.
Minor (10%) travel is required for this position.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Active U.S. DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
Required Experience / Skills:
At least seven (7) years of experience with DoD research and development (R&D) procurement.
Experience and working knowledge of System Safety Engineering, analysis, demonstration, and test.
Proficient in all Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point).
Demonstrated good oral and written communication skills.
Experience coordinating operations across multiple organizational boundaries.
Experience working in a dynamic, schedule constrained, and complex security environment.
